Alaska Cruise

In September 2006 we took a cruise on board the Regal Princess.  Lots to see up there you know.

Pulling away from the home port in San Francisco.

Chris on the cell phone to Tracy and Kelly.

Cruising away from the City.

This is for some of my radio friends, a shot of the transmitter site on Mount Beacon.  Hope she stays on the air while I'm away!

Check out my new jacket.  I needed it out here under the Golden Gate Bridge.

So long to the City by the Bay.

This is actually the first time we got off the ship in Skagway.  For those of you who know the story, I was a little detained for a couple of days.

Down town Skagway Alaska.  Pretty small city.  They told us that about 1200 people occupy Skagway during the tourist season.  That goes to a normal population of around 800, with as little as 400 during the off season.  Beautiful city.

Here we are entering Tracy Arm, one of the view points for glaciers as you will see coming up.

The glacier in Tracy Arm in all of it's splendor.

Lots of ice sprinkled around.

Arriving at our next port, Victoria, BC.

The unforgettable Empress Hotel.

Our pilot boat leaving us in Victoria.

This is the dining room that we had most of our meals in.  The food and service was great

This is Burt and Carol.  We had dinner and drinks with them often.

Annette and Fred.

John and Margaret.

Chris and I.  Where's the food?  You know on a cruise ship, it's all about the food.

Here comes the Baked Alaska.

Here we are back at home in San Francisco at Pier 35.  Where's the food?
