MW-10 Gone

The old MW-10 Harris transmitter was finally retired after many years of service.  The first audio it played was classical music under the call letters of KKHI-AM.  Following that, other formats that were heard from this transmitter were Talk, Country, Infomercials, Oakland A's Baseball, and finally Podcasting.  The new solid state Harris DX-10 replaced it as the Main Transmitter in 2005.

Out the door on the fork lift.

This would have looked pretty funny to a broadcaster driving by on the Bayshore Freeway.  The transmitter is headed to a flat bed truck that was to large for the access road and gate.

Progressing along the bike path to the truck.

This was the last I ever saw of it.
